WhySeek's Coordinates: The Roadmap of a Guangzhou Company
Guangzhou has an airport, a seaport and railway hubs at the same time, which is the practical basis for headquarters in Guangzhou and a network across the Greater Bay Area. Each of the four business lines has its place, and the boundaries are just as clear: food-medicine products stay strictly within the 106-item positive list with no efficacy claims, while health and medical travel provide consultation and itinerary arrangement only, never diagnosis or treatment.

Having covered Hong Kong, Nansha, Huadu and the whole Greater Bay Area, we turn the camera back on ourselves: why does a start-up registered in Guangzhou, running four business lines around health, medical travel, quality goods and sourcing, set its coordinates here?
Why Guangzhou
A plain geographical view answers it: Guangzhou has an airport at Baiyun, a seaport at Nansha and railway hubs at Nansha Station and Guangzhou North Station at the same time, so one city covers almost every gateway of international trade. Tianhe has a mature business environment, while Huadu and Nansha are each growing new industrial space at the northern and southern ends. For a company, this is the practical basis for headquarters in Guangzhou and a network across the Greater Bay Area.
The Opportunity List for Four Business Lines
- WhySeek Select (retail)A consultative shopping model that brings food-medicine wellness ingredients and household daily goods to overseas Chinese and global consumers, widening reach through the Guangzhou International Trade Port and the Canton Fair's spillover;
- WhySeek Sourcing (B2B procurement agency)Drawing on Nansha Port, the inland port and one-stop customs clearance, it provides procurement agency, sample and material sourcing, and supply-chain management for trading and manufacturing companies;
- WhySeek Health (health services)For people living across Shenzhen and Hong Kong and for Hong Kong and Macao residents travelling north, it offers patient companionship, health consultation and chronic disease management as everyday health services;
- WhySeek Health Travel (inbound medical travel)As hub transport is progressively connected, it provides consultation and itinerary services for overseas buyers and patients seeking care in China together with traditional Chinese medicine culture experiences.
The Boundaries You Can See
This round of observation also made clearer where the boundaries lie. The national catalogue of food-medicine substances currently lists 106 items, 87 in the first batch in 2002 with 19 added in three batches since 2019, and the pilot filing scheme for compound-formula health foods has brought 36 traditional Chinese medicinal materials into scope, including Dendrobium officinale, Gastrodia elata, Polygonatum sibiricum and Astragalus membranaceus. WhySeek Select's food-medicine products must stay strictly within that positive list, without crossing the line and without efficacy claims. On the other side, the Hong Kong and Macao medicine and device connect is accelerating: Guangzhou has issued ten measures to advance it, and Shenzhen's Huimin insurance has expanded designated medicines under the scheme from 15 to 22 and extended cover to clinically urgent imported Hong Kong and Macao devices. This means more compliant connection points are growing between quality Hong Kong and Macao medical resources and the mainland service network. Visible opportunities and visible boundaries matter equally.
The company has also planned a technology line, focused on IT services and the commercialisation of research results, serving small and medium enterprises in the Bay Area with digitalisation and going-global needs.
The Window and Closing Thoughts
We have no interest in telling a hype story. Connecting the hubs takes time: the Shenzhen-Nansha high-speed railway is targeting readiness by the end of September 2027 and committed to readiness before the end of December 2027, while Nansha Station and the trade port's core zone are expected to enter service in 2028. We would rather treat these two years as a window to refine our service processes, supply chain and compliance systems.
When the chasm becomes a thoroughfare, what is genuinely scarce is not opportunity but the ability to turn opportunity into reliable service. That is what WhySeek is doing. We welcome attention, conversation and partnership.
